Halloween is my favorite holiday for two reasons: (1) It’s the only day of the year you can take candy from strangers without getting felt up, and (2) I love costumes. When I was little, I dressed up as Peter Pan for Halloween for three years in a row. From ages 6 to 8, I rocked that green costume. I was like, “It’s made of 100 percent real felt. Jealous?” And all the other kids were like, “Yeah.” Then Grandpa told me Peter Pan was supposed to be a boy and made fun of me until I cried. At the time, I was too young to fight back. But it appears that the tables have turned, old man. And I feel a punchin’ comin’ on. My crazy, unresolved childhood issues aside, Pan is still the coolest. And Creative Arts Theatre & School (CATS), located at 1100 W. Randol Mill Road in Arlington, thinks so too. Peter Pan runs Friday through November 5, and you should go. It could help you get over all those Mom issues. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Call 817-861-2287 or visit creativearts.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 27. Continues through Nov. 5
