Teen angst is a world of pain. He said this. She said that. I hate my nose. I hate my face. I hate my butt. How can I get rid of that enormous zit? Will she laugh at my jokes? When you’re a teenager your hormones are raging, and you act like a ferocious feline. Yup, when it comes to entering those double digits you become a love, crazed lunatic who will stop at nothing to be with the one you love. It’s been this way for centuries and dates all the way back to the Shakespearian era when that man named William wrote one of the most epic teenage love tragedies of all time. Join the Dallas Opera as they celebrate their production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. Romeo is a Capulet. Juliet is a Montague. Will their love surpass and survive sword fights, ill words and an infamous family rivalry? All signs point to possible tragedy and it looks like teen angst may prevail. The show is conducted by Maestro Marco Zambelli and directed by Michael Kahn. All performances take place Friday through February 27 at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St. Tickets start at $25. For information call 214-443-1000 or visit dallasopera.org.
