In case you’re wondering why Bob Nelson is wearing boxing gloves, sparring headgear and a dazed expression, it’s because his routine includes a long imitation of some punch-drunk palooka’s tips on how to become a professional fighter. That’s just one of many routines poking fun at dumb people that the rubber-faced goofball has in his family-friendly repertoire. Hard to believe that this Branson regular, who shares in church seminars alongside Michael W. Smith, used to open for Rodney Dangerfield and was in a troupe with noted pottymouth Eddie Murphy. Nelson performs 8:30 p.m. Thursday, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and 8 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub inside Mockingbird Station. For tickets ($10 to $15) and more information, call 214-823-LAFF or visit hyenascomedynightclub.com.
