After bringing cartoon families out of the “modern stone-age” and into the modern digital-age, Cartoon Network is still revolutionizing the way children, and let’s face it, adults, view cartoons. The network partnered with The Oregon Museum of Science Industry to bring Animation to Frisco’s Sci-Tech Discovery Center. This interactive exhibit, which takes a peak behind the storyboards, proves there’s more than a dose of “Chemical X” involved in turning cartoon concepts to finished products. Animation features the art and science of the cartoon world, including elements like character design, drawing techniques, timing, movement, filming, special effects and voice acting, broken down into six sections: history, animation studio, art in motion, animation laboratory, sound and stage, and a cartoon museum. Animation runs till May 1 at the Sci-Tech Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Pkwy in Frisco; museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
