In a survey of ’90s pop country, of course, you’ve got your feisty Reba and your sexy Shania, but let’s not forget that Georgia songbird, Trisha Yearwood, whose debut album was the soundtrack of the summer of 1991 for more than a few Texas girls. While those girls are all grown up now, the notes of “She’s in Love With the Boy” or “Like We Never Had a Broken Heart” still evoke memories of two-stepping in the gym in a bright red pair of Rocky Mountain jeans and ropers. Alas, those tight jeans were long ago outgrown, and in the intervening time, Trisha’s moved on to other things too, such as marrying Garth Brooks and writing cookbooks. Publishers Weekly says Yearwood’s recipes are “not for the faint of heart or high of cholesterol,” but they do include personal anecdotes, which are calorie-free. Yearwood will be signing her most recent book, Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood, at Sam’s Club, 1200 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano, at noon Friday. Visit trishayearwood.com for more info about the book.
