When’s the last time you went on a date? More important, what did you do on that date? Let me guess…dinner, maybe a movie afterward? Dinner can be so awkward and movies don’t really provide a true bonding experience. So what else is there to do? Concerts are good, but things can get a little noisy. Shopping’s fun, but then guys are pretty much obligated to buy anything a lady’s heart desires. Here’s an idea: Gogo Gumbo! Join Gumbo Maven owner and chef Kraig Thome in a night full of cooking shrimp cakes, maque choux and blueberry cornmeal upside-down cake. No worries, you can chow down on the grub, too. Gogo Gumbo starts cookin’ from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Central Market Southlake Cooking School, 1425 E. Southlake Blvd. Admission is $55. For more information, call 817-310-5665 or visit cookingschoolsofamerica.com.
