Friendship has been a sacred bond between females for centuries. Compassion, empathy and a deep longing for an emotional connection have flowed openly and freely from the veins of women since the beginning of time, and countless fictional characters have reflected this. From Laverne and Shirley to Thelma and Louise, female BFFs have played a major role in some of our favorite movies and television shows. Merrie Nell Spence and Heather Powell attempt to bring this same formula to the stage when they star in Lipstick and Camouflage, the musical story of two polar opposite women who befriend one another in New York City. They’re gonna make their dreams come true, doin’ it their way. The production takes the stage Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Addison Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Road. Tickets are $20.
