The Gallery at the Fairmont gets an added collar pop Friday when three local talents present Caviar, a group show that pokes gentle fun at swank living, as told through a throwback rear-view mirror. Filling the walls are works by artists Daniel Perez, Daniel Driensky and Ray Albarez, all of whom you’ve seen out and around Dallas if you’ve ever left your home after 8 p.m., ever. Driensky, who’s usually capturing nightlife images around the city, presents work on his own terms at Caviar, and you’ll want to experience them. Eccentrically staged and delightfully summoned, he’ll showcase a special collection of portrait work and a series titled POSTCARDS. Typography nerds, get excited. Perez gives us romance via typeset through a blending of paint and chalk pieces. By honoring the fonts of old, he’s able to reference their roles within, and impact upon, culture. Completing the trio is painter Ray Albarez who’s learned a thing or two in a life of graffiti. Namely, that it’s thrilling. He’s channeling that gusto for his new collection. The reception runs from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday at The Gallery at the Fairmont (1717 N. Akard St.). Visit thegalleryat.com.
