Barbecue comes in many forms and seasonings — all of them delicious. From Tennessee’s dry-rubbed slabs to Georgia’s hickory-fired pit-smoked pork, it’s tough to find a variety that we won’t chomp down. Still, Texas rules this game of roasted meats, and you can cheer on your favorite brisket (or other cuts) at the Blues, Bandits, and BBQ festival. It happens Saturday at the Kidd Springs Park (711 W. Canty St.) and admission is free, but for $20 to $25, you get to try barbecue from noted groups such as Meat Fight and Texas BBQ Posse while watching live bands. The tasting begins at 2 and the festivity ends at 6 p.m. Also, the Dallas Observer’s resident Brit, Gavin Cleaver, will be guest judging. For more information, visit bluesbanditsbbq.com.
