If you’re obsessed with true-life storytelling, you’re not alone- there are others. Lots of them, fixated on the lives of so-called ordinary Dallas people who are proving to be anything but. Like Dallas native Nicole Stewart, who created Oral Fixation, a performance experience backed by an addiction to excavating stories from the real lives of Dallasites. Now in its third season, and always themed around English language idioms (we’ve seen themes like “No Strings Attached” and “Silver Lining”), Oral Fixation presents “The Elephant in the Room,” a forum for telling your most bizarre stories. But the stories have to be true, and truly awkward. The criteria for the March show is speaking out about that big issue that everyone is skirting despite its size, like the time a woman’s prosthetic leg fell off in a valet line or a secret adoption. Monday’s show starts at 8 p.m. in the Hamon Hall of the Winspear Opera House. Tickets are $25 at oralfixationshow.com and sell out quickly.
