Kind of like a big lunch and carnival rides, something about mixing booze and acrobatics seems odd. Leave it to the performance genius of Cirque Mechanics — with performers from the Moscow Circus and Cirque du Soleil — to make it work. The troupe presents Boom Town, a reinterpretation of the gold rush of the mid-19th century. The story follows two entrepreneurs who try their hands running a saloon to make some fast cash during gold fever. The performance is an acrobatic assemblage of performers who’ll have you watching in awe as they hang daringly on a revolving crane, teeter on whiskey jugs and swing on telegraph poles. Head out to the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, for the one-day-only performance on Saturday. Show time is 8 p.m, and tickets range from $44 to $62.
