With a kick-ass soundtrack by Queen and big-screen comic book whiz bang like no other, 1980’s Flash Gordon has earned its cult status. Full of insane costumes, wacked-out special effects and some of the most quotable dialogue ever, the story of football star/savior of the universe Flash has been in our hearts (and DVD players) for years, but for one night Flash is getting his very own silver-screen showing and alien dance party. This week, the Texas Theatre will be hosting a special screening, costume event and dance party, so grab your big fluffy wings, red and gold bodysuit or any other appropriately Flash Gordon-themed attire and head to the Texas Theatre, 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. The film screens in 35mm at 9 p.m. and the afterparty will be hosted by Ghost Daddies (Sean Sparks and Boston Morgan). Admission is $12.
