These days we speed date, we virtual date, we meet, we greet and we usually sanitize after. We find dips, drips and trolls, but we keep at it. There has to be just one decent person out there, right? Wrong. No, we’re kidding. Of course there is! And no doubt he or she (or a couple hes and a couple shes, we won’t judge) will be at Kite in the Mind, a new way to get to know people with brains. And not brains in the formaldehyde — like that one creep off CL — but actual brains in their heads that they use to discuss intelligent topics, problem solve and every now and find inspiration. Kite in the Mind insists it’s “not a networking event, but an evening intended for the purpose of exchanging constructive thought with like-minded individuals.” You heard it here, brainiacs. Now’s the time to dust off your thinking caps and head to Kite in the Mind every remaining Wednesday in December from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Millennium 2000 Gallery, 1409 South Lamar St., Suite 1019. Head to beyondstyleonline.com/calendar.shtml for more info and to RSVP (required).
Wed., Dec. 28, 6-9 p.m., 2011
