Everyone knows there are two understood requirements for New Year’s Eve plans. The first: It has to involve laughter and fun. The second: There has to be a convenient seating option because the new shoes you wear (ladies or gents) are not going to be comfortable 20 minutes into the evening. Optional third thing: Lighting should really be such that your sequined tank (ladies or gents) won’t blind anyone else. Backdoor Comedy Club satisfies all of those with its New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. Not only are the chairs and lighting perfect for the occasion, but you’ll get stand-up sets and shenanigans from Dallas beloved Paul Varghese (just back from Comedy Central’s Gabriel Iglesias Presents Standup Revolution and Showtime’s Russell Peters Presents), Aaron Aryanpur (Maxim’s Real Men of Comedy Tour) and 2011 Observer MasterMinds finalist Linda Stogner (yes, yes, she’s an Emmy winner too) at two showings — 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The later showing includes party favors, champagne toast at midnight, post-show dancing and a Backdoor Comedy gift.
