We’re with the Japanese on this one: Game shows aren’t worth their salt unless the contestants are humiliated, abused and scared out of their minds. If a lady makes thousands of dollars spinning a wheel, there better be spikes, snakes or cans of tear gas involved. That’s why we’re fond of the latest installment of Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre—Friday’s 7 p.m. show is Game Show of Death. Sweet! We doubt anyone will actually die, but it sounds a lot more dangerous than Lingo, at least. Cost of dinner and show at the Spaghetti Warehouse, 1255 Interstate 20 West in Arlington, is $35. Reservations are required. Call 817-557-0321.

Fri., Feb. 10, 7 p.m.
