What could be more romantic than hanging out in Richardson on a Sunday, drinking tea and talking about people who can’t read? Throw in some kids with terminal illness and crumpets, and I’m ready for love. But seriously, folks, the Buns and Roses Romance Tea for Literacy featuring best-selling romance authors such as Elizabeth Boyle, Lorraine Heath and many others, is all for a good cause. Just think of all those poor illiterate souls that the event’s beneficiaries, the Richardson Adult Literacy Center and Richardson Public Library, work with every day who can’t read. They’re missing out on throbbing members, torn bustiers and long, flowing man-locks. Heartbreaking. The tea is from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Hotel, 701 E. Campbell Road. Tickets are $25 or fans can purchase a table with the author of their choice for $250. Visit bunsandrosestea.org.
Sun., Oct. 22, 2-4 p.m.
