Oh, to be a person of leisure. To have reason for a chaise or fainting couch and have occasion to lie upon it. To schedule hair appointments at hours that don’t make my stylist want to strangle me. To eat meals seated. To not drink my low-fat yogurt smoothie whilst I shower. To be able to have a tiny man that is paid only to check my shoes for scorpions and spiders before putting them on me. To sit from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday (or Saturday) at the Dallas Arboretum and enjoy Fireside Wine Flights, where I can sample selections of wine picked by Glazer’s Domaines & Estates, Marketers of Fine Wines.
