Philip Glass is a musical boundary breaker. In the mid-20th century, he helped invent musical minimalism, but he doesn’t like to be pigeonholed as a minimalist. He’s composed some of film’s most recognizable and memorable soundtracks. He is also the genius behind some of the last century’s most avant-garde, genre-bending operas. He writes music, but he also still plays music. On Monday, Glass and collaborator violinist Tim Fain take the stage at the Winspear Opera House (2403 Flora St.) for an evening of chamber music. The concert, presented by TITAS, will feature Glass performing some of his most memorable keyboard music as well as piano/violin chamber music he composed especially for Fain. This is music that will mesmerize and is sure to stick with you for days. It’s also a chance to see a living musical genius do what he does best. Tickets range from $12 to $135.
