As much as I’m tired of everyone saying, “In this economy, we here at [insert business name] wanna give you folks a deal!” I’m totally behind one event that, yep, in this economy, is quite a deal. Why? Because it’s free. And because it provides, in a fun and casual environment, health screenings that can put women on the right track to better health. Saving lives for free sounds like a win-win affair for everyone involved. So, head to the Automobile Building in Fair Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday as Sister to Sister: The Women’s Heart Health Foundation hosts the Dallas Women’s Heart Health Fair. The first 1500 women (18 and older) will receive comprehensive heart screenings (that includes cholesterol and triglycerides, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, Body Mass Index, waist circumference, and review of family health history), results and counseling with a licensed pro if needed. Even parking is free at gates 2, 4 and 5 so ladies, there’s no excuse to take a huge step toward getting healthy. Visit sistertosister.org.
