Celtic Thunder sounds like the name of a very silly metal band, but the group is in fact a very popular Irish ensemble and not the least bit metal. The five-man act has sold millions of CDs, DVDs and concert tickets and is now touring again with its festive “Celtic Thunder Christmas Tour.” The performance features traditional Irish and Celtic songs along with holiday tunes like “All I Want for Christmas is You” and “Last Christmas.” Although the songs are traditional, Celtic Thunder’s performances are not. They perform in both solo and ensemble styles, and their act includes light shows, fun choreography and creative stage settings. Celtic Thunder perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, 1001 Performance Place. Tickets are $39.50 to $55. Call 972-854-5050 or visit celticthunder.ie.
