A writer and comedian whose résumé includes both “contributor for The New Yorker” and “creator of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” Andy Borowitz certainly seems interesting. So it’s no surprise that the Dallas Institute for Interesting People has asked him to be a part of their lecture series. What’s surprising is that there is an IIP in the first place (an organization with a goal of “intellectual stimulation” and yet the slogan they choose is, “[IIP] is edu-tainment”? I find it interesting that anyone returns their phone calls). Borowitz, author of Who Moved My Soap: The CEO’s Guide to Surviving in Prison, is slated to discuss humor in political reporting. Interested? Institute for Interesting People Presents Andy Borowitz at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Mercury Grill, 11909 Preston Road. Tickets are $40 per person for non-members.
