As the weather turns colder (finally), your alcoholic musings might turn to traditional winter beverages such as hot toddies, Irish coffees or a few nips of brandy from the cask of your neighborhood St. Bernard. But just because it’s getting frosty is no reason to turn your back on that old summertime pal: beer. The Idle Rich Pub, 2614 McKinney Ave., is fully stocked with seasonal brews, including hearty Belgian ales and American winter warmers, and wants to introduce you to these foul-weather friends at the pub’s Christmas/winter beer tasting, 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Cost is $25. Call 214-965-9926 or visit idlerichpub.com.

Mon., Dec. 14, 7-9 p.m., 2009
