They say that all you need is love. They sound pretty sure about that, and we have to hope it’s true — because Dallas residents will need a lot of the stuff to get through the cavalcade of media attention focused on our fair city during the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination this November. Fortunately, the affection starts early, and in spades, with the Dallas Love Project Kickoff Party at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Deep Ellum Brewing Company, 2823 St. Louis St. The Dallas Love Project is working to commission 50,000 individual works of art from Dallasites dedicated to the theme of unconditional love and will show about 20,000 of these along JFK’s fated motorcade route and throughout the city as a monument to both the memory of JFK and the redemptive power of l-o-v-e. Thursday’s event serves as a fundraiser for this mammoth undertaking: For $10 you get a brewery tour, live music from Devin Leigh and a commemorative “Love Runs Deep” pint glass. What’s not to love about that? Visit dallasloveproject.eventbrite.com for tickets.
