We always knew the “X” stood for something other than the address when it comes to the long-established, artist-run cooperative gallery on 500 Exposition Ave., and this summer 500X wants to push it good to the max. Their annual unjuried show, Hot-n-Sweaty, kicks off on with an opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m. and will feature art as it is meant to be — naked and nubile, liberated from the constraints of stuffy old curators. (Yeah, we just grossed ourselves out. Hardcore.) On exhibition through June 17, Hot-n-Sweaty will feature emerging visual artists from a variety of media for a real taste of what’s happening in Dallas underground and unafraid. As Mixalot might put it: So, Dallas if you want profound, and you’re looking for a triple-X throwdown, dial 1-900-Hot-n-Sweaty and kick those artsy thoughts. Dallas got art.
