You have to say the timing is superb. Mr. Energizer Bunny of the ice-skating world, Scott Hamilton, sweeps into frigid Dallas with some of the world’s best skaters for an extravaganza called Double Exposure: The Many Lives of Figure Skaters. The show promises to give lots of insight into the skaters’ “secret wishes, personal goals and ultimate dreams” using “a broad spectrum of popular music, intricate lighting, dynamic choreography and state-of-the-art technology.” We don’t care as long as there are lots of triple axels and skimpy costumes. Performers include 2002 Olympic pair champions Jamie Salé and David Pelletier, two-time Olympic gold medalist Ekaterina Gordeeva, 2002 Olympic men’s champion and four-time World Champion Alexei Yagudin, World champion and six-time U.S. National champion Todd Eldredge, World champion and two-time Japanese National ladies champion Yuka Sato, World bronze medalists and three-time U.S. National pair champions Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman, eight-time British National men’s champion Steven Cousins, two-time U.S. National pair champion Jason Dungjen, six-time Canadian National ladies champion Jennifer Robinson and two-time World bronze medalist and three-time U.S. National men’s champion Michael Weiss. And since a portion of the proceeds goes to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, you can think of watching your favorite skating stars spin and frolic without the pressure of judges’ scores as a good deed. See the Smucker’s Stars on Ice Tour 4 p.m. Sunday at the American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave. Tickets are $25 and up. Call 214-373-8000 or visit ticketmaster.com.
