Poor, poor bassoon. No one understands you. They don’t appreciate your double reeds and they’re intimidated by your stature. To be fair, it isn’t every day that someone gets serenaded by a woodwind the size of a 10-year-old. So here’s what you’re going to do: Call up some of your buddies, like the guys at Art Music, then teach the world about The Beauty of the Bassoon. Your favorite bassoonist Wilfred Roberts will gather up a pianist and a string trio, and then you’ll perform works by Hubert Parry, Philip Wharton and Peter Tchaikovsky. Once the public hears you sing, they’ll fall in love with you. Let’s do this thing at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the performance hall of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration (14115 Hillcrest Road). Added bonus: Let’s let everyone in for free.
