A lot has changed for the Dallas Stars since winning the Stanley Cup more than a decade ago, as evidenced by the club’s three-year playoff drought and bankruptcy after losing a reported $92 million during that span. Now there’s a new owner (Canadian hotelier and restaurateur Tom Gaglardi), new head coach (rookie Glen Gulutzan), new star players (youngsters Jamie Benn and Loui Eriksson) and new ticket prices (just nine bucks for nosebleeds). More important, the Stars are positioned to nab a playoff spot, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll scratch and claw their way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Heck, it’s not like we haven’t seen a former Tom Hicks’ club emerge from bankruptcy onto a sport’s biggest stage before. Head over to the American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave., to get a glimpse of the new-look Stars as they face off with the struggling Anaheim Ducks at 7:30 p.m. Call 214-GO-STARS or visit stars.nhl.com for tickets and more information.
