Put on your pinstripes and pack a picnic. As part of their annual free-to-the-public summer parks concert, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra is bringing a little swing and a lot of syncopation to Klyde Warren Park (2012 Woodall Rodgers Fwy) at 8 p.m. Thursday. Principal pops conductor Jeff Tyzik will lead the orchestra in a concert of classic American ragtime music. Bring a picnic. Bring the dog. Bring the kids. This is the perfect soundtrack to a hot summer night downtown and it’s a great way to hear our city’s gem of an orchestra without the ticket prices and pomp of a concert hall. No need to worry about what to wear or who is available to babysit because there are no rules about being quiet during the Maple Leaf Rag. So bring the whole famdamnly and enjoy this incredibly affordable night of live music. No tickets necessary. Admission is free. Find more information at dallassymphony.com.
