Now that we can finally look forward to cooler weather—we hope—spending time outside without a pool is actually appealing. To mark the tenth anniversary of the Katy Trail, Friends of the Katy Trail presents the first Katy Trail Days Festival, a week-long succession of live music, picnics, Halloween activities for kids and running, blading and biking. It all begins on Saturday with free live entertainment from noon to 6 p.m. along the trail. On Tuesday you can show off your Jack-O-Lanterns on the Pumpkin Walk from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday there’s a Pub Crawl at area bars and restaurants, and Saturday is race day from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The festival wraps up with a picnic and live entertainment at Reverchon Park on Sunday, November 4.
