There are two reasons to go see author Sarah Rafael Garcia at Borders. One is to hear her read from her latest book Las Niñas: A Collection of Childhood Memories, which columnist Gustavo Arellano described as “a Latina Little Women, a real-life Judy Blume saga” before instructing, “If you have a daughter, get rid of her American Girl collection and give her this book!” Why am I telling you what he said? Because you might flip a few pages back to check out his Ask a Mexican column. Besides, he’s dead-on about the book. But the second reason to check her out would be her clever blog–blog.myspace.com/sarahgarcia74–here she ponders dating, love and sex as a 30-something woman. Garcia reads and signs Las Niñas at Borders, 5500 Greenville Ave. at Lovers Lane, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visit SarahRafaelGarcia.com.
