April may be the cruelest month, but January is the suckiest. Moviegoing sucks because we’re wedged between the Oscar-bait and summer movie seasons; the weather sucks, as the cold lingers like a bum relative who won’t move off your couch; and the New Year serves as a sucky reminder that you’re one year closer to death. Let’s face it: January is the sucky broccoli that we’re all forced to eat. The Dallas Comedy House (2645 Commerce St.) recognizes January’s wealth of bad PR and they’re prepared to help you through it with their new sketch series, January Up!. The event will feature sketches making fun of what’s universally acknowledged to be the worst month of the year. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the box office. Shows are at 8 p.m. every Thursday in January.
Thursdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Jan. 8. Continues through Jan. 29, 2015
