You can’t make this stuff up … said no fiction writer, ever. Mostly because they are pretty sure they can. But despite the twisty plot lines, similarities to our own lives and outta-nowhere narrative bends that authors, screenwriters and playwrights create in their minds, there’s nothing we connect with more than a dose of good old-fashioned, actually real reality. Local storytelling series Oral Fixation capitalizes on that with gusto, presenting local folks — just like you and me — onstage, telling their stories. This go-round, the theme is Silver Linings, an exploration of those times when everything goes to hell but somehow ends positively in one way or another. Featuring true-life pieces from Margaux Anbouba, Natalie Brandt, Bryan Dolgin, Ashley Porter, Sakina Rasheed, Karen Soltero and Drew Weininger, the show will commence at 8 p.m. on Monday in Hamon Hall at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora St. Hear the upshot of a short detention at an Israeli airport, and an inspiring story involving a nasty flesh-eating bacteria during the performance, among other uplifting tales. Tickets are $25. Visit tickets.attpac.org.
