Reader support matters more than ever

We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $12,500 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.

$12,500

Bruce Bruce is a large man. He’ll tell you so himself, in fact. He usually opens his stand-up routine stating his assumption that the people in the front row are hoping he doesn’t fall on them. He has been losing weight, though. According to some recent interviews he lost more than 70 pounds last year, a feat made more amazing when you realize that he’s the guy who did that chicken commercial for Popeye’s not so long ago. At times dirty but never vulgar, Bruce is one of the few touring comedians whose shows are fun for the whole family. Bruce takes his first solo tour to the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road, this Thursday through Sunday. Tickets are $25. Call 972-404-8501 or visit improv.com.

Thu., Jan. 25; Fri., Jan. 26; Sat., Jan. 27; Sun., Jan. 28
