Showing that dancers are some of the strongest and toughest breed of performing artists, the dancers of the Bruce Wood Dance Project are keeping the faith and moving forward with the work of their artistic leader by honoring his memory with their fall show, Lovett + More, at the Dallas City Performance Hall. This retrospective of his most popular dances, “Being,” “Lovett!”, and “Piazzolla de Prisa,” take us on a brief journey through his history in Dallas. Being, first performed in 1998, was Wood’s deliberate attempt to make a ballet that was structurally strong. “Lovett!,” which premiered in 2000, is so quintessentially Texan, that you can’t help by love it. 2014’s “Piazzolla de Prisa” will feature live music from the Dallas Chamber Symphony. This production will also be the first one lead by Acting Artistic Director Kimi Nikaidoh, long-time Bruce Wood dancer. See it at 8 p.m. Saturday or 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dallas City Performance Hall, 2520 Flora St.. Tickets are $15-$100 and available at attpac.org.

Sat., Sept. 13, 8 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 14, 2 p.m., 2014
