Remember when you were younger, sitting around the fireplace and listening to It’s a Wonderful Life on the radio with your family every holiday season? Neither do we, but it would’ve been a great memory. Instead, we’ve spent our winter breaks watching the Frank Capra holiday classic on the small screen at home, but all of that is about to change, with It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Joe Landry’s decidedly old-school twist on the holiday favorite. The five-man performance gives new voices to George, Potter, Uncle Billy and everyone else in Bedford Falls in this play-as-radio-drama set on Christmas Eve in 1949. For a new look at an old classic, check out Mark Fleischer’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play at 8 p.m. Friday at the WaterTower Theatre at the Addison Theatre and Conference Centre, 15650 Addison Road. Tickets are $20 to $40, with additional performances running Wednesdays through Sundays until December 16. Call 972-450-6232 or visit watertowertheatre.org.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 7. Continues through Dec. 15, 2012
