Nothing beats a big-money, widow-making scheme…especially when it also involves the most far-fetched character names (Grubby Shurtz, Golda Miner, Forrest Green, Big Harry Deal and others), numerous costume changes and a mine shaft. Right. A mine shaft. A lumberjack, a guy named Lucky Betts, a “hilarious climax” and a mine shaft and yet this play, titled Male Order Brides (heh!), isn’t a porn. In fact, we can safely assure it’s a family-friendly farce by Word of Mouth Productions. See for yourself 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through February 25 at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Ave. in Plano. Tickets are $8 to $12.
