Mark Twain may be rolling over in his grave, but it’s not the kind of rolling that most would assume is because of insult–he’s busting out his dance moves for the opening of Big River at Theatre Arlington. A Tony award-winning musical based on Twain’s classic The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Big River will have play enthusiasts reminiscing about their childhood days of mischief and revelry. Audiences will get a history lesson through the production’s pre-Civil War setting and enjoy catchy tunes written by Roger Miller, composer of well-known songs such as “King of the Road.” Who knows, maybe audience members will bust a move right along with Twain. Big River is set to run through October 18. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Ticket prices vary. For more information, call 817-275-7661 or visit theatrearlington.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m.; Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Sept. 18. Continues through Oct. 18, 2009
