What is it about conservatives writing books about their father figures? First Tim Russert wrote Big Russ and Me, and Clarence Thomas published My Grandfather’s Son. My theory is that it’s a last-ditch effort at achieving the love Papa denied them growing up. Not that I have experience with this. Nevertheless, Jim Nantz, CBS Sports’ principal mouthpiece and established conservative, recently published his own patriarchal love story, Always by My Side.
