As a child named Peter, I was often accused of being a “pumpkin eater” and having a wife I couldn’t keep. Both are completely false, I’ll have you know. So I felt no remorse in claiming to be Peter Pan in my defense. As a 6-year-old, that’s what life was all about: youth and the power of flight. Even my fellow playground revelers had to agree. Until, that is, I would throw sand in their eyes and tell them it was fairy dust. They didn’t dig me so much then. But everyone still loved Peter Pan. He’s awesome. And now, through June 15, he’ll be a marionette too, as Slappy’s Puppet Playhouse (located in the Galleria, 13350 Dallas Parkway) puts on a show of Peter Pan & Wendy. Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. and tickets are $8. For information and other showtimes, call the box office at 214-369-4849 or visit slappysplayhouse.com.
Saturdays, 1 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: April 5. Continues through June 15, 2008
