As a former college runner and current disdainer of cookie-cutter cities, I am going to have an unusual dilemma next week. Ordinarily, I’d love to race the Resolution Run, but as luck would have it, it will be held in Addison, the home of every chain restaurant known to man. If that type of stuff doesn’t bother you, the Resolution promises to be a fun course that will take runners across Addison’s visually interesting—at least compared with the rest of the city—blue Arapaho Road Bridge. Runners will also have a choice of 5K or 10K races. The Resolution Run takes place 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Addison Conference Centre, 15650 Addison Road. You can pre-register at runontexas.com.
Sat., Jan. 6, 8:30 a.m.
