For 40 years, Dallas has been designating its landmarks, recognizing and honoring architecturally and culturally significant structures. And for the next month, the Dallas Center for Architecture (1909 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Suite 100) is giving us a little insight into the city of Dallas Landmarks program in its exhibition aptly titled Dallas Landmarks. On the list of nearly 100 recognized structures, you’ll find historical notables like schools, churches, industrial buildings, theaters and even residential homes. Take a look back at the history of our city through its landmarks and learn a little bit about the designation process and what it takes to become a part of the preservation movement. The exhibition is free to the public and is on display from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays until June 28. Call 214-880-1550 or visit dallascfa.com.
