Desperation truly pushes man into the harsh polarities of nature, elevating one to either the peaks of virtue or sinking one into the most slovenly, despicable depths. Especially in the realm of food foraging. For instance, upon arriving home in the first hours of the morning, I once created a concoction of a microwavable pizza topped with pizza-flavored microwave pockets, which I then rolled in order to dip it all into a jar of lush Ranch dressing. Regardless of what the reader believes, I prided myself on this feat, and now estimate myself a minor microwave-master chef. If you’re in the same boat, but wish to branch out a little, Central Market is offering a basic cooking class titled Beyond the Microwave. The class will take place 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fort Worth Central Market just off Interstate 30. Cost is $60. Call 817-377-9005 or visit centralmarket.com.
