Tom Sale is curating The Florence Project at the Webb Gallery and it’s going to be a real doozy. The brain that has created skull spoons, handjobs in hell and foul-mouthed elf ornaments has now created an entire show on his latest obsession — Florence Nightingale. Sale has been studying Nightingale for more than three years and has traveled internationally just to follow her path and read her diaries. The show will feature dioramas in trunks, photographs, a leather-tooled wheelchair, taxidermy and, of course, hand-cast body parts, all brought to life by artists Tom Sale, Richard Saja, Penny Nickels, Scott Horn and Lily Smith-Kirkley. On Sunday’s opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m., Florence Nightingale buttons will be available, wine will be provided by Dean’s List Wine and Lumiere Tintype Studio will be on-site offering tintype portraits. The exhibit will run at Webb Gallery, 209 W. Franklin St., Waxahachie from November 3 to January 29. Visit webbartgallery.com.
