A reflection on city life and our childhood past, photographer Mike Osborne’s exhibition Monopoly, seeks to reconcile the realistic Atlantic City with our memories of coffee table game nights. His interpretations of light and dark, color and void both mesmerize and sadden us. The dreams we had of money and real estate and hotels, from Baltic Ave to Boardwalk, jerk awake as we see the streets as they are. And yet, the surprise is our feeling a connection at all to streets we only knew by name and color, their geography and character limited to a side of a game board.Monopoly opens October 11 and runs through December 20 at Holly Johnson Gallery (1411 Dragon Street, 11 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday – Saturday).
