When you die, you have two viable options: heaven or hell. I take that back; knowing you, there’s really only one option. See you down there, sucker. In the meantime, Fair Park’s Margo Jones Theatre opens a new play by (Ron) Alexy that plumbs the comedic depths of apocalypse. Heaven, Hell and that Burning Place of Fire gives the afterlife a mirthful treatment. It’s like stand-up comedy about humanity’s eventual peril. On Friday, the show is paired with a reception that welcomes a portrait of the legendary Miss Jones, who founded her theater company in Fair Park more than 50 years ago. The theater is located behind the Music Hall in Fair Park, 1121 1st Ave., and parking is always free if you tell the attendant where you’re headed. Nosh starts at 5 p.m. followed by Alexy’s show at 9. A dual ticket is $15, available through Eventbrite.
Fri., March 14, 5 p.m.; Sat., March 15, 8 p.m., 2014
