With the environment in the forefront of the nation’s mind following the oil spill, it’s only appropriate that another nature-inspired art exhibit opens, right? Birdsong: New Oils by Shari Hornish and Resonance: Watercolors by Billie Giese have arrived at the Norwood Flynn Gallery (3318 Shorecrest). Feast your eyes on Giese’s beautiful Texas landscape, complete with branches and flowers. Then take in Hornish’s impressionistic leaves and birds. The free exhibits run from Saturday through September 11. An opening reception takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 5:30 p.m. For more information, visit norwoodflynngallery.com.
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 12-5:30 p.m. Starts: Aug. 21. Continues through Sept. 11, 2010
