One Small Step

When Neil Armstrong first stepped onto the moon, his heart shattered. The moon (cue dramatic music) was not made of cheese. He has lived with that disappointment his whole life, and we can now take part in that sadness by celebrating the moon one day after the anniversary when Armstrong’s childhood fantasy became a nightmare. The National Space Society of North Texas and the Frontiers of Flight Museum will host Moon Day 2012 on Saturday. While you cry, you can listen to moon experts from various Dallas universities and colleges talk about the moon’s composition and space exploration. The family-friendly event will feature a Lunar University for adults and a Moon Academy for children. They’ll even talk about colonizing Mars. A screening of Postcards from the Future, a futuristic documentary, will also screen. Live it up under the stars at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, 6911 Lemmon Ave. Tickets cost $8.
