Past and Peasant

Chris Rock once said, “If a homeless person has a funny sign, he hasn’t been homeless that long.” Some may find that humor to be in bad taste, but he’s got a point. If you don’t have any nourishment, free time should be spent obtaining food, not funny. So the new Second Thought Theatre production of History of the World: As Told by a Drunken Peasant Who Lives Outside Eleanor Bull’s Tavern During the Elizabethan Era raises a question: What kind of homeless peasant has time for the history of the world? The peasant should be dedicating his efforts to obtaining food, not the education of the masses. I guess, more than anything else, peasants need a good lesson in time management.
