I’m a huge fan of picnics, but since my friends aren’t too keen on them, a picnic for one is probably on the top-10 list of most depressing things to do. So I refrain. All that just might change, however, with the addition of lots of pretty flowers, relaxing crisp classical music and an Oscar-winning movie, all for free. I could be in outdoor heaven with that, my trusty blanket and a two-piece-and-biscuit combo. Unless it’s, like, super-hot and humid, in which case I will promptly leave to find my friends at a nice air-conditioned bar. But I’m hoping for the best—mostly to teach them a lesson. WRR 101.1’s Picnic in the Park celebrates Labor Day 7 p.m. Sunday at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, with the Dallas Wind Symphony and a screening of Babe.
