One of the inherent rights of a child is to have their own playhouse. It can be made from couch cushions and blankets or wood and nails; hell with just a little imagination even an empty box can be the coolest land of escape ever. So if you had any and all materials at your disposal, what sort of playhouse could be created? Check out the 2007 ORIX Parade of Playhouses to find out. Twelve local companies have built dream playhouses and they’re on display at NorthPark Center from Friday through August 18 in order to raise awareness for Dallas CASA, an organization of child advocates for victims of abuse and neglect in Dallas County District Juvenile and Family Courts. Raffle tickets ($5 each) will be sold for the opportunity to win a playhouse during the August 18 drawing. NorthPark Center is located at W. Northwest Highway and Central Expressway. Visit dallascasa.org for more info.
